The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has successfully intercepted 61 illegal migrants, comprising 60 individuals from Cameroon and one from Burkina Faso.

These migrants were apprehended at two different locations within the Ibafo and Sagamu areas of the state.

State Comptroller of the Immigration Service, Olufunmilayo Olayemisi, shed light on the operation, revealing that an additional 51 individuals, suspected to be accomplices from Nigeria, were also taken into custody.

All of these individuals were found to lack valid travel documents, which raised significant concerns about their presence in the country.

Parading the suspects at the command’s office along the Presidential Boulevard in the state capital, Olayemisi emphasized that these illegal migrants posed a substantial threat to Nigeria’s national security.

She further indicated that the necessary consultations with their respective countries would take place before their repatriation to their countries of origin.
