Nigerian political economist and former presidential aspirant, Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu, on Friday salutes disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.
Mogbalu, also a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria said Cuppy is a good example for Nigeria and African youths.
“In today’s world of glitz and short attention spans, DJ Cuppy is a powerful example to young people in Nigeria & Africa,” he said.
He mentioned it on Friday via his verified Twitter handle.
He said the 29-year-old disc jockey hosted him Friday afternoon and after a two-hour discussion he could discern her brilliance.
He said it reminded him of why he was proud to be a Nigerian
“You remind me of why I am so proud to be a Nigerian” – Florence “DJ Cuppy Otedola,” Mogbalu said.
He added, “I was so touched.
“Cuppy is simply brilliant. A master’s degree student of African studies @UniofOxford, she combines glamour and depth of intellectual substance to a degree I found simply impressive.
“Not surprisingly, she’s planning on taking a Doctor or Philosophy (D.Phil) degree eventually.”
Earlier in the year, DJ Cuppy revealed through her Instagram page, in a pre-recorded video call with her parents, that she had been admitted into Oxford University, England, for a master’s degree in African Studies.
