Man United to be without Rashford till October
Manchester United are going to be without attacker, Marcus Rashford, who will be undergoing shoulder surgery that would keep hit out until around October.
The Premier League club, in an official statement on Friday, confirmed that the Englishman would attend to the muscle tear which he has been managing since last November.
UK Sun reports that the 23-year-old took pain-killing injections to ensure he was available for the Three Lions’ journey to their Wembley defeat against Italy in the EURO 2020 final.
Rashford opted to have an operation on the shoulder which failed to improve as expected and he is would miss a number of game for United as they begin the 2021/22 football season
A club statement read: “Following consultation between Marcus, the manager, club medical staff and specialists, Marcus will undergo surgery imminently to resolve his shoulder injury.
The news is a major blow to United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is bidding to end the club’s eight-year wait for a Prem title.
Rashford will miss the season opener against Leeds on August 14 and could miss eight league games and three Champions League ties in total.
He could also miss five England World Cup qualifiers in September and October as well.
