Two million people eligible to vote in Mongolia’s presidential election – Commission
The Mongolian General Election Commission, on Tuesday, says 2,151,329 citizens are eligible to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
This is just as the commission stated that 1,009,755 of those eligible are residents in the country’s capital Ulan Bator while 1,141,574 voters made up the remaining 21 provinces.
Mongolia, with a population of around 3.3 million, is preparing to hold its next presidential election on Wednesday.
Three candidates namely Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, chairman of the ruling Mongolian People’s Party; Sodnomzundui Erdene, former chairman of the opposition Democratic Party and Dangaasuren Enkhbat, a former legislator, are running for the post of president.
Enkhbat is the candidate from the political alliance for the Right Person Electorate Coalition.
Political parties or coalitions that have at least one seat in the parliament are eligible to nominate their candidates for the presidential election.
