A 27-year-old man, Tukur Yusuf, was on Friday remanded in prison for allegedly raping a seven-year-old boy in Dandago quarters of Kano State.
The Chief Magistrate, Muhammad Jibril, ordered the remand of the accused in prison and adjourned the case until April 12 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Pogu Lale, told the court that the accused, who resides at Dandago Quarters, deceived and lured the boy to his room on March 7, at about 10.30 am, while the victim was on his way to school.
He said the accused removed the boy’s trouser and forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with him through his anus on four different occasions which caused him injuries.
Lale said that the boy was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for medical examination and treatment.
The prosecutor said the matter was reported at Mandawari Police Division, Kano by the victim’s father, Suwaiba Ali, who resides in the same house with the accused.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 284 of the Penal Code.
The accused who is facing a one-count of unnatural offence pleaded not guilty to the charge.
