HE DID IT! Nigeria’s Omon breaks Guinness World Record for Longest Dance Marathon

A Nigerian dancer, Michael Bright Ifeanyi, has broken the Guinness World Record for the Longest Dance Marathon by an Individual.

Ifeanyi also known as Bright Omon danced 7 days nonstop to break the current record.

He was visited by Odumewu Debbie a.k.a Pinki Debbie, who broke the record herself in 7 days back in November 2017.

Omon, however, hasn’t stopped dancing and can still be found at the Maryland Mall, Lagos.

Celebrating his achievement on his Instagram, he wrote:

Record broken!!!! We did it!! Now let’s raise the bar!!!

Popular dance queen and choreographer, Kafayat Shafau-Ameh, also celebrated Bright Omon for breaking the existing record and wished him good luck on his quest to set a new record.

Kaffy wrote,

“RECORD BREAKER ALERT @dbrightomon welldone…I was like u are crazy for attempting to go for 8 days but meeeen it’s over 6 days and u still going strong breaking the last record already.

“God will see you through. Now go for gold and set the new record …. @guinnessworldrecords .

“Everyone if u live or work around @marylandmallng Ikeja you can go there to encourage him. Saturday is his aim that’s when it’s 8 days …. we are praying.”

Ifeanyi began dancing at the Maryland Mall, Lagos, on March 9 and is expected to wrap up his attempt on March 17.

He hopes to dance for eight straight days.

When he started his record-breaking quest, he invited Nigerians to the Maryland Mall to join him and offer support.

“Come dance with me as I attempt to break the Guinness world record for the longest dance marathon… put does dancing shoes on because I can’t do this without you as we are all officially going to be record holders,” he wrote.
