JUST IN: Niger Assembly Deputy Speaker resigns
The Deputy Speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly, Honorable Bako Kasim Alfa has resigned.
He announced his resignation during plenary which is currently ongoing.
His resignation came in a letter submitted to the Speaker and read at the floor of the House but the reason of his resignation was not immediately revealed.
The nomination of another deputy Speaker was moved by member representing Paikoro constituency, Suleiman Gambo Aninigi and seconded by Member representing Kontagora Constituency, Sale Ibrahim Alhaji.
The new Deputy Speaker is the member representing Lavun Constituency, Honorable Jibrin Ndagi Baba.
It could be recalled that last week the house impeached two principal officers.
