Nigeria records highest COVID-19 deaths in West Africa as toll hits 7,839
Africa has recorded over 3,000 deaths due to complications arising from COVID-19.
According to the latest number released by the Africa Centre for Disease Control (CDC), there are 3,246 deaths recorded in the continent.
The continent has also recorded 107,412 cases in 54 countries.
As of Sunday, North Africa has the highest number on the continent with 33,382 confirmed cases.
West Africa accounts for 28,344 cases, while Southern Africa has 22,921 cases.
Nigeria has the highest cases in West Africa with 7,839 confirmed cases, as well as 226 fatalities, the highest deaths in the region so far.
