JUST IN: UI College of Medicine’s provost, deputy test positive for COVID-19

UI, ASUU elects Akinwole as Chairman

The provost and deputy provost, University of Ibadan College of Medicine, Prof. Ezekiel Olapade-Olaopa and Prof. Obafunke Denloye, have tested positive for coronavirus.

Olapade-Olaopa, who made this known in a Whatsapp group message Sunday morning said โ€œDear colleagues, I wish to inform you that the deputy provost and I tested positive for the COVID-19 following the tests done on Friday.

โ€œAlthough we are both asymptomatic, we have gone into self-isolation for the 14 days while our contacts are being observed closely to determine if they should also be tested.โ€

Similarly, the chief medical doctor, UCH, Prof Jesse A. Otegbayo, has also tested positive for coronavirus. This was disclosed in a statement personally signed by the CMD.
