Delta polytechnic student shot by suspected cultists
A yet-to-be-identified student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku is currently battling for survival after he was shot by suspected cultists.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the cultists had stormed the institution’s premises on Tuesday and shot the student on the waist, throwing the whole campus into pandemonium as staff and students started running helter-skelter for dear life.
Eyewitnesses said the victim has been rushed to the hospital by the management of the institution for medical attention.

As at the time of filing this report, doctors at the Asaba hospital where the shot student was rushed were still battling to save his life.
It was gathered that a female friend of the victim who was said to have collapsed following the shock from the gunshot was revived moments after.
Although reasons for the attack were still hazy as at the time of filing this report several sources within the Polytechnic confirmed that the gun attack was a cult-related issue.
“One of our students was shot some few hours ago at the school premises. We all thought he was dead until the school security and some management staff rushed in to discover that he was still alive. The attackers are cultists and they shot sporadically to scare everyone,” The Punch Newspapers reported quoting an unnamed staff.
“The victim and his female friend who collapsed during the attack have been rushed to hospital in Asaba, the state capital. He was shot around his waist. Both staff and students fled for safety.”
When contacted, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Manfred Oyibogbeye, confirmed the shooting of the student saying “the student and the collapsed female student had been rushed for medical attention”.
He added that investigation had commenced into the incident.
