28-year-old Nigerian footballer to set Guinness World Record with soccer ball
A Nigerian footballer and ball juggler,Tonye Solomon is attempting to enter his name in the Guinness World Record book.
The 28-year-old is attempting to break the longest distance walked with soccer ball balanced on the head record.
Solomon is attempting to break a record set by Chinedu Harrison, a Cambodia-based Nigerian footballer who walked a distance of 48.04 kilometers in six hours, 15 minutes to break the previous record set by Indian soldier, Naib Subedar Azad Singh.
Singh travelled a distance of 45.64 km to beat a record set by Abdul Halim of Bangladesh who travelled a distance of 15.2 km on October 22, 2011.
Tonye is trying to cover 60km. He started his journey by 6am Nigerian time on Thursday from Amassoma town the country home of the former governor of Bayelsa Late Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha en-route Tombia town, Agudama-epie is expected to end his journey in Peace Park, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The 28-year-old’s first attempt was botched by the rain earlier in the year.
