2021 BET Awards: Chadwick Boseman beats Eddie Murphy, Kaluuya to Best Actor category
Late Black Panther icon, Chadwick Boseman, has a posthumous Best Actor award at the just concluded BET Awards held on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, United States.
It was the first award with a live audience in attendance since the coronavirus pandemic hit the world in December 2019.
Recall that Boseman died of cancer at 43 on the 28th of August 2020 and, according to The New York Times, the late actor was one of his generation’s most sought-after personalities after playing groundbreaking figures like James Brown, Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall.
Boseman bagged the posthumous award by beating the likes of ‘Coming 2 America’ and Hollywood legend, Eddie Murphy, British actor, Daniel Kaluuya as well as ‘What Men Want’ actor, Aldis Hodge.
