10 health workers among Uganda new coronavirus cases
The Ministry of Health has Wednesday confirmed 75 new cases of COVID-19 in Uganda bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 3,112.
Of the 75 cases, 10 are health workers from Kampala while the 65 are contacts and alerts, the health ministry revealed in a press statement.
From the remaining 65, Kampala had 30 cases while Buikwe, Kikuube and Buvuma had 23, six and three cases respectively. Jinja, Mukono and Wakiso registered one case each.
The cases were confirmed from tests done on September 1, 2020. According to the health ministry, 4,133 samples were tested.
The ministry revealed that 10 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for the virus, were denied entry into the country. Of the 10, seven were Kenyans, two Tanzanians and a Congolese.
To date, Uganda has carried out 385,882. So far, 1,528 Ugandans have recovered from the virus.
