The bodies of two individuals have been discovered within a red pickup truck submerged beneath the waters where the Baltimore bridge recently collapsed. The collapse occurred after a ship struck the bridge, causing eight construction workers to plummet into the river below.

Maryland State Police identified the recovered workers as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 35, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26. Mr. Fuentes, originally from Mexico, and Mr. Cabrera, from Guatemala, were found within the sunken truck by divers during recovery efforts.

“Sadly, we’ve confirmed the recovery of two workers from the submerged truck,” stated a spokesperson for the Maryland State Police.

Efforts to locate the remaining missing workers are ongoing. Despite initial rescue attempts, four workers are still unaccounted for and are presumed dead.

“We’re facing significant challenges in navigating the river due to concrete and debris,” explained authorities. “However, we’re employing sonar technology to locate other vehicles potentially containing victims.”

Among the missing are Miguel Luna, originally from El Salvador, and Maynor Suazo Sandoval, a citizen of Honduras. Efforts to provide closure to the families of the victims remain paramount, with officials dedicating extensive resources to the search operation.

“We are committed to providing closure to the families affected by this tragedy,” declared Wes Moore, Governor of Maryland, during a press conference. “Every possible resource is being utilized in our search efforts.”
