Osita Iheme ‘Paw Paw’ reacts to his famous memes
Renowned Nollywood actor Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, has expressed delight over the widespread use of memes featuring him on social media platforms.
In an interview with NXT KLTR, Iheme revealed his happiness at seeing clips from his old movies being used as memes, stating that it signifies the enduring value of his past work.
“It’s good to see that your works are doing well out there and people are appreciating what you are doing,” said Iheme. He continued, “Even though it has been so many years people are still valuing it years later. It’s good and it shows that you have an asset that you can always back up and bank with. Because when you look at 20 years ago, the works you’ve done and you see that people are using it to express themselves, you’d feel happy. I feel happy.”
Over the years, humorous stickers and memes featuring Iheme from his old films have gained widespread popularity across various social media platforms.
These memes, characterized by his distinctive expressions and comic timing, have not only been embraced by Nigerians but have also been used globally, particularly during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown era.
Osita Iheme rose to fame as one half of the dynamic Aki and Paw Paw duo, alongside his partner-in-crime, Chinedu Ikedieze. Together, they starred in numerous blockbuster movies such as “Aki Na Ukwa,” “Village Rats,” and “Double Wahala,” among others.
Despite more than two decades passing since their prime, they have retained their status as Nollywood icons and pop culture figures.
