WWE lays off staff in social media, digital teams

World Wrestling Entertainment has reportedly carried out another wave of staff reductions, with the latest cuts impacting employees working in the company’s social media and digital divisions.

The reported layoffs took place last week and affected several backstage personnel.

According to a report from Pwinsider, between two and four employees have so far been confirmed as part of the latest round of departures.

The names of those released have not been disclosed, while the report added that “many” additional layoffs are believed to have occurred.

The latest staff reductions come approximately two months after WWE implemented a separate round of cuts involving on-screen talent.

Among those released at the time were Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, and members of The Wyatt Sicks.

During that same period, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods reportedly chose to leave WWE rather than agree to revised contracts that would have included salary reductions.
