Wolves sign Real Sociedad strike, Willian Jose, on loan
Premier League side, Wolves, have completed the loan signing of Real Sociedad striker, Willian Jose, until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old would provide an additional attacking option or Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, with Mexican forward Raul Jimenez out with a fractured skull.
The club’s statement read: “Wolves have completed the loan signing of Brazilian striker Willian Jose from Real Sociedad, subject to a work permit and international clearance.
“The 29-year-old moves to Molineux on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season, with Wolves holding an option to make the move permanent in the summer.”
18-year-old Fábio Silva has been deputising in Jiminez’s absence since the clash of heads with Arsenal’s David Luis at the Emirates on the 29th of November and managed to score two goals, which Wolves eventually lost.
With the addition of Jose, who has scored 62 goals in 170 appearances since joining the La Liga side in 2016, including six during in 2020-21, Nuno’s side would be bolstered with his experience should he be an instant hit.
Wolves, however, have the option to buy the 29-year-old Brazillian in the summer if they are impressed with his services at the end of his loan deal.
“Jose will be handed the number 12 shirt upon his arrival in the West Midlands, but is not expected to be available for Wednesday’s Premier League clash at Chelsea,” the statement added.
