The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has drawn attention to what he described as the uncommon level of political unity in Rivers State as he continues to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the remarks on Sunday during a “thank-you” visit to Ahoada West Local Government Area, where he commended residents for rising above party affiliations.

He said political engagement in Rivers State has gone beyond loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), evolving into what he termed the “Renewed Hope Family.”

According to the minister, the spirit of collaboration across party lines, which he compared to a “rainbow coalition,” distinguishes Rivers State from others and highlights its capacity for inclusiveness and collective purpose.

He encouraged other states to emulate this approach as the country moves toward the 2027 general elections.
Wike emphasised that the true strength of Rivers State does not lie in party identity but in the shared resolve of its people.

He described the state as an example of natural unity, where political direction is shaped by common objectives rather than partisan considerations.

The minister expressed optimism that this cooperative spirit would endure and reaffirmed his strong backing for President Tinubu’s second-term bid, noting that Rivers State stood solidly behind the president even when his prospects were doubted by many.
