Wigwe: Ita-Giwa halts 78th birthday celebration

Published

Former Senator and presidential adviser National Assembly Matters, Florence Ita-Giwa, Florence Ita-Giwa, has decided to postpone her 78th birthday celebration following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Holdings, his family members, and others in the United States.

In a statement addressed to friends and family, the Bakassi leader, whose birthday is on February 19, explained that the initially planned low-key and intimate celebration had to be deferred due to the somber atmosphere caused by the unfortunate incident, which also resulted in the loss of her dear friend, Bimbo Ogunbajo.

“My dear friends and family. I count myself blessed to have wonderful children, relatives, and friends like you who have stood with me through thick and thin over the years. No high point of my life would have been worth celebrating without you. I had planned a low-key but intimate celebration of my birthday this year.

“However, news of the untimely passing of Herbert Wigwe a Financial TITAN, an Efik son, whose mother is an Efik woman and my dear friend Bimbo Ogunbanjo, a Corporate Law Giant, in that fatal helicopter crash has dampened my mood, and I am compelled to postpone celebrating my birthday.

“I urge you, my very dear friends and family, to bear with me even as I ask you to join me in praying for the repose of their souls,” she said.

Recall that Mr. Wigwe, his family members, and Bimbo Ogunbanjo died of the February 9, 2024, helicopter crash in California, United States of America.

Florence urged her friends and family to join her in prayers for the repose of their souls during this challenging time.
