Why Nollywood stars bleach their skin – Charity Nnaji
Scriptwriter and actress, Charity Nnaji, has disclosed that Nollywood producers are to blame for the incessant rise in the number of movie icons involved in skin bleaching in the industry.
Nnaji, who made the statement on her Instagram page on Thursday, justified her claim when she argued that producers lookout for fair-skinned girls to shoot movie scenes leaving the dark-skinned ones feeling inadequate.
As a lasting solution to the problem, she urged filmmakers to invest in good and quality cameras that would enhance the beauty of every actress on set instead of indirectly forcing them to ‘bleach’.
According to her, this will also help reduce their preferences for fair girls in Nollywood.
“Too many fair girls in Nollywood..and believe me movie producers are the reason for the high rate of bleaching in this industry .. invest in good camera to shoot your film you refuse now you want girls to bleach their ass out before your movie can come out colourful in Africa Magic and co nonsense”
