WE’VE COMPETENT DOCTORS! Why my wife gave birth in Nigeria, explains Skales’ manager, Kollertunz
After getting married last year December, Nigerian singer, Skales’s manager, Kollertunz, is now a father.
Married to Yewande, Kollertunz welcomed his first child, Jeremy Kolawole Oluwaferanmi Ajayi, on May 10 while the star-studded naming ceremony took place on May 16.
Kollertunz said words could not describe how he felt while holding his baby boy for the first time.
He stated,
“Since the birth of my baby, it has been sleepless nights for us but I am excited and fulfilled. The feeling is different; when you just achieve something, it is always a nice feeling. I honestly cannot express how I feel.”
According to him, during his wife’s labour, the doctor had to send him out of theatre room as he became too apprehensive.
Explaining why his wife gave birth in Nigeria, Kollertunz said,
“I am a Nigerian; so, why do I need to take my wife abroad to deliver when I know we have competent hospitals here? I have made up my mind even before I married that I would have my first child in Nigeria.
“As the last child of my parents, my mother wanted to witness the birth of my child and my wife’s mother wanted to be there for her too. When I thought of the expenses of taking everyone abroad, I felt it didn’t worth it.”
Though his wife gave birth to a boy, Kollertunz said he wouldn’t have been disturbed if it were to be a girl child.
He added,
“My wife was unconcerned about the sex, though she wanted a girl child. But I made sure they didn’t tell us the sex before delivery. For some reason, however, I knew he was a boy. When I went shopping abroad, things I got were for a male child. Even though it turned out to be a girl, those things cannot waste because I know I will still have a boy.”
