We are all relocating to Ondo, Seun Kuti, Yemi Alade, others react to Akeredolu’s cannabis business
Plans by the Ondo state government to begin medical cultivation of cannabis has received commendation from some Nigerian artistes and celebrities.
WuzupNaija reports that the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, after a visit to Thailand to learn cannabis business disclosed on Tuesday that the state is focusing on medical cultivation of marijuana in controlled plantations under the full supervision of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The news seems to have excited some Nigerian artistes who have taken to social media to commend the Ondo state government’s over the initiative.
Prominent among those who have commended the plan are Seun Kuti, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar.
Others include US-based Nigerian artist and activist Laolu Senbanjo, UK-based afropop singer Afrikan Boy among others.
Seun Kuti had taken to Instagram to commend the governor’s plan dropping hints that he could be relocating to the state as soon as cannabis becomes a legal business.
He said the move could see afrobeat switching base to Ondo state.
He wrote,
“Ehn Mr excellency sir, if u want me to move to your state, just say so. This beating about the bush is unnecessary. Afrobeat is about to switch home base y’all.
“Just imagine one good joint for my back ache then better Ondo pounded yam to heal my stomach pain, nuff said!!”
Responding to the post, Yemi Alade wrote,
“Buying the whole enterprise ???”
