American streamer IShowSpeed jokingly asked the children of President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, to help him obtain a Nigerian passport.
The encounter took place during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.
In a video taken from his livestream and shared on X, IShowSpeed was approached by Seyi Tinubu and his children in the stadium’s VIP section. Supporters waited for Spain’s players to lift the trophy at the time.
The streamer, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., exchanged greetings with the family. He also encouraged the children to pose for photographs with him.
“Hey, nice to meet y’all. Come on, take a picture. Turn around, turn around, turn around,” he said.
After posing with them, IShowSpeed jokingly asked the children to speak to their father about securing a Nigerian passport for him.
“Hey, man, tell your dad to give me a passport. Tell y’all dad to give me a passport,” he said.
The streamer later turned his attention towards the pitch as Spain prepared to celebrate their victory over Argentina.
“All right, y’all, they are about to lift up the trophy,” he said before adding, “Hey, man, I gotta get my passport.”
The light-hearted interaction attracted reactions on social media. Several Nigerians linked the request to IShowSpeed’s growing connection with the country.
The 21-year-old content creator visited Nigeria earlier in 2026 during his Speed Does Africa tour.
During the visit, he livestreamed his experiences in Lagos, toured several popular locations and interacted with Nigerian entertainers and supporters.
IShowSpeed also celebrated his 21st birthday in Nigeria and reached 50 million YouTube subscribers during the tour.
He was one of the performers at the World Cup final closing ceremony. Before Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time, Spain won their second men’s world title.
