Former Napoli midfielder, Diego Demme, has urged Victor Osimhen to consider leaving Galatasaray for a fresh challenge in either the English Premier League or Spain’s LaLiga, insisting that the Nigerian striker deserves an opportunity to showcase his abilities at one of Europe’s leading clubs.
Osimhen first moved to Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli two years ago before the Turkish champions secured his permanent signing in 2025. Since arriving in Istanbul, the 27-year-old has played a significant role in the club’s success, helping them secure consecutive Turkish Super Lig titles.
The Super Eagles forward has also attracted interest from several European heavyweights, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Juventus and Atletico Madrid. Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Osimhen has continued to feature prominently for the Turkish giants.
Demme, who previously played alongside the Nigerian international at Napoli, acknowledged the striker’s strong connection with Galatasaray supporters but believes a move to a more prominent European league would further enhance his profile.
“I think Osimhen is very happy in Galatasaray because he likes the fans and they like him, but I still want to see him play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe in a league like La Liga or the Premier League,” Demme told R.org.
The former Napoli midfielder also stressed that Osimhen possesses the quality required to compete at the highest level and could benefit from greater exposure outside Turkey.
“I think he has to do it because he is a really good striker, and he would have more visibility than he currently has in Turkey.”
