WAS HE WORKING FOR SARAKI? Mixed reactions trail sack of DSS boss, Lawal Daura
The political atmosphere in Nigeria has been charged up after some operatives of the Department of State Services invaded and took over the National Assembly premises in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The mask-wearing operatives prevented lawmakers from entering the complex.
Many Senators and Nigerians condemned the action. They said it was a deliberate act by the Buhari led administration to impeach Senate president, Bukola Saraki.

However, in a sudden turn of events, Acting president Yemi Osinbajo sacked the DSS boss, Lawal Daura, and condemned the brazen actions of the operatives.
In a statement by his media aide, Osinbajo promised that all persons within the law enforcement apparatus who participated in siege would be identified and subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.

According to him, the unlawful act which was done without the knowledge of the Presidency is condemnable and completely unacceptable.
Meanwhile, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce specifically named senators on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and former minority leader of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, as the masterminds of the invasion.
Nigerians on Twitter have expressed their opinion over the immediate termination of the appointment of the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Lawal Daura.
Some hailed Osinbajo and said his decision has proven that the Buhari led administration will not tolerate such anti-democratic actions from the DSS boss.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters exclusively reported that the decision to sack Daura was taken at about 4 am on Tuesday, and Osinbajo secured Buhari’s approval before making the decision public.
They said that Daura ordered Tuesday’s DSS siege to the National Assembly in order to whip up public sentiments for Bukola Saraki.
Some Twitter users also said that Osibanjo, Lawal Daura, DSS and NASS are just playing on Nigeria’s intelligence adding that the game has just begun.

VP Osinbajo used wisdom to sack Daura. According to villa sources, Osinbajo first of all summoned the DG DSS to his office at exactly 1:15 PM. While he was still talking to Lawal Daura, Laolu @AkandeOJ was directed to release a statement announcing his sack in true mafiosi style!

To be sincere, Osibanjo, Lawal Daura, DSS and NASS are just playing on our intelligence, they all know what they are doing. They know Nigerians love Drama, so they are giving us a good movie to watch and get us talking

People say whenever Buhari is out of Nigeria things works fine. Today Osinbajo has shown how leadership should be. Firing Lawal Daura for negligence is a singular act of courageous leadership that must be commended. Osinbajo shd use his acting capacity & do things Buhari can’t.
