Letter with three bullets addressed to Pope intercepted, Italian police identify suspect

The head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State, Rome, Pope Francis has called on the world to pray for Nigeria.

This comes after about five days of unrest that has taken lives as well as destruction to properties in many states across the country.

The chaos is an aftermath of a peaceful protest against police brutality that was hijacked by hoodlums who went as far as looting businesses and burning down police stations in major states in the country.

In a statement on his official Twitter account, the Pope said, the country needs prayers for the avoidance of violence.

“Let us pray to the Lord for Nigeria, so that every form of violence might always be avoided, in the constant search of social harmony through the promotion of justice and the common good,” he tweeted.
