The United Nations Children’s Fund has described the crowdfunded donations from Opeyemi Falegan’s charity foundation as a scam.

The revelation is coming in the wake of the politician’s messy break-up with actress Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing.

Recall that Falegan had in an Instagram post solicited donations from his followers for his foundation, saying he would directly remit it to UNICEF.

Reacting to his development, UNICEF has distanced itself from activities of the foundation stating that the global agency is not aware of the fictitious donation.

The United Nations Children’s Fund further urged the general public not to fall victim to the scam by Nkechi Blessing’s ex-love Opeyemi Falegan.

“UNICEF Nigeria is aware of a fictitious donation drive to raise funds for UNICEF. Please be aware that all legitimate campaigns for donations are hosted on the UNICEF website www.unicef.org and verified social media pages. Do not fall victim to this scam!”
