Less than a fortnight after the son of Nigerian lawmaker was shot dead in London Borough of Hackney, another Nigerian has been stabbed to death in the same area.
Eighteen-year-old Israel Ogunsola was cycling to meet friends when he was waylaid and killed.
The Nigerian, who was studying computer programming, was described by his father Dele Ogunsola as “academically brilliant”, London Evening Standard reports.

The 55-year-old customer services administrator described his son as “a well brought up boy who respected everyone and was liked by all and sundry”.
He called for a halt to the bloodshed saying,
“The bloodshed must stop. London’s streets are so dangerous. Young people are being slaughtered every day. If it means bringing back more stop and search, then so be it. We have to tackle this problem and the Government needs to do more.”
According to reports, Israel – known among friends as Izzy – was found injured by police officers in Link Street, Homerton, at 8pm. He was given first aid by an off-duty paramedic but pronounced dead at the scene 25 minutes later.
Two boys, aged 17, have been arrested on suspicion of the murder.
On Monday, Tanesha Melbourne, who is listed as friends with Israel on his Facebook profile, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Tottenham.

According to Israel’s father, his family are heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with the death of the teenager. He described Israel, who has an older brother and sister, as the baby of the house. We are all heartbroken.”
The Ogunsolas left Nigeria for London in 1985.
Israel’s death is coming 10 days after Abraham Badru, son of Enitan Badru, a member of the house of representatives, was shot dead in the UK.
At least six Nigerians have been killed in London attacks in 2018 alone.
