TRAGIC! Abia councillor dies in motor accident two weeks after he was elected
Agu Charles, a councillor representing Umuaku ward (2) in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, has died in a road accident two weeks after he was elected.
Charles who was elected as a councillor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lost his life in a motor accident on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021.
It was gathered that the deceased was sworn-in by Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, on December 22nd together with other elected officials.
The Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, Ifeanyi Madu, who confirmed the incident on Monday, January 4, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late councillor.
Madu sympathized with the family and prayed that God should console and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
