Tinubu renames university after late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renaming of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, Bauchi State, in honour of the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

The president made the announcement on Saturday during a condolence visit to the family of the revered cleric in Bauchi State.
During the visit, President Tinubu paid glowing tribute to the late scholar’s lifelong commitment to the service of God, humanity and the Nigerian nation.

He described Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as an eminent Islamic scholar, a moral guide for the country, and a man whose teachings on honesty, integrity and good character shaped and inspired generations of Nigerians.

President Tinubu arrived at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport at about 4:50 p.m. and was received by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang; ministers; and other senior government officials.
Among the ministers present to welcome the president were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and the Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, alongside other dignitaries.

Members of the presidential entourage included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, and other top officials.
