Tiler bags seven months for theft of building materials

An upper Area Court , sitting in Kasuwan Nama, Plateau State on Thursday sentenced a 30-year-old tiler, Titus Yohana, to seven months imprisonment for stealing building materials worth N42, 000.
A panel of two Magistrates, Ghazali Adam and Hyacinth Dolnaan, sentenced Yohana after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
The panel gave Yohana an option to pay a fine of N10,000.
They said that the judgment would serve as a deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such criminal act.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Monday Dabit, told the court that the case was reported on December 1st, 2021 at the ‘C’ Division Police station by Davou Pam, the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the offence is punishable under sections 333, 313 and 273 and 273 of the Plateau Penal Code law.
