This is how fans are reacting to Jose Mourinho’s interest in managing Arsenal
Former Chelsea and Manchester United Manager, Jose Mourinho, is reportedly interested in managing Arsenal if the position, presently occupied by Unai Emery, became available.
Emery is presently under increasing pressure at the Emirates following a not-too-impressive start to the season as fans are criticising his tactics.
Fans have also questioned Emery for always omitting Mesut Ozil from the team since the beginning of the season.
Following the Gunners dismal 1-0 loss to Sheffield United a week ago and 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Sunday, they are now fifth with 16 points from their opening 10 games.
The performance has forced many Arsenal fans to demand Emery’s sack as manager.
Although there are no immediate plans to dismiss the Spaniard, ESPN reports that Mourinho would be open to talking to the club if the position became vacant.
Mourinho, who has been based in London after being sacked by Manchester United almost a year ago, has also been linked with a return to Real Madrid.
He has been working as a pundit but has made no secret of his desire to return to management.
Arsenal fans started expressing mixed feelings on social media when Jose Mourinho was spotted in attendance at the Emirates Stadium last Thursday in Arsenal’s 3-2 win against Vitoria Guimaraes in the Europa League match.
Multiple reports in the media on Thursday about Mourinho’s interest in managing Arsenal have sparked mixed reactions among football fans on social media.
Some fans of the club have taken to Twitter to air their opinion about Mourinho taking over from Emery should the Spaniard be fired over.
While some believe Mourinho would manage Arsenal better, others don’t want Mourinho anywhere close to the Emirates as a staff.
They argued that he was a sore critic of the former manager Arsene Wenger.

Mourinho had multiple face0ffs with Arsene Wenger during his time at Chelsea and Man United. He once described Wenger as a ‘specialist in failure’ when the Frenchman could not win major trophies for the Gunners at the latter end of his stay at the club.
British sports presenter, Aaron West tweeted:
Please. For the love of Arsene Wenger and everything he built. Do not hire Jose Mourinho, Arsenal. Please.

Sports journalist, Musa Okwonga also frowns at Mourinho’s reported interest in managing Arsenal.
He tweeted:
For the record – Mourinho is so obviously a terrible appointment for Arsenal that no, I don’t seriously want it to happen! I have to say this, just in case.

Another fan tweeted:
I have never wanted anything in the history of the Premier League to happen more than Mourinho to Arsenal. It’s what we, and more importantly they, deserve.

A fan wrote:
Why are people against appointing Mourinho? Give him an 8 year contract and at the end when he hasn’t won anything make him publicly apologise to Arsene then launch him out of a cannon.

Another tweeted:
As a pioneer of Emery out, I want change more than anyone. However, if you want Mourinho to replace, fix up immediately. He nearly relegated Chelsea, he couldn’t revive United with more resources than us. He is more finished than Wenger. He is toxic and his football is shit.

Jose Mourinho is levels above Emery. They shouldn’t even be mentioned together, but the decision to hire him would be like taking the values that made Arsenal special, chucking them in a bin and then having a shit on top of that.

You’d be absolutely nuts to open the door of the Emirates to Jose fucking Mourinho
Short memories.

Mourinho to Arsenal would put fans on fire. Let us deal with Ozil-Emery-Xhaka-Kroenke problem for the moment! Then we will consider anyone but not #Mourinho to #Arsenal!

Mourinho would win Arsenal an EPL title but I doubt Mourinho will consider managing them

As much as other arsenal fans dislike this idea I think Mourinho would do a great job at arsenal especially given our history of defensive problems.. https://t.co/lVO6P0yVUs

I don’t want Mourinho at Arsenal. The fact people are considering this shows how confused the club is at the moment.

A part of me absolutely hates Mourinho but another part of me would secretly love him to manage Arsenal and make us ruthless. #AFC pic.twitter.com/ra5zc62A8e

I would find the prospect of Jose Mourinho going to fuck himself, then fucking off to go fuck himself even more really interesting. https://t.co/vAzAHdl63T
