THEY HAD N604,000 ON THEM! Police arrest two for vote-buying in Iwo
Following reports of widespread vote-buying in the ongoing Osun State election, the police have arrested two men in Iwo, Iwo Local Government Area for suspected vote-buying.
According to a statement, the police recovered N604,000 from the suspects, adding that investigation had commenced into the matter.
“Two suspected vote-buyers have been arrested by a team of police personnel on election duty at Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State and the sum of N604,000 recovered from their possession. Investigation is being intensified,” the statement said.
Mr Adebayo Rafiu and Muraian Latif, the All Progressives Candidate leaders in Ede south LG, were caught by security agents at the polling unit trying to induce voters with cash.

An All Progressives Congress party agent, who preferred to be anonymous confided in our correspondent that almost all the parties were involved in vote-buying in Ede.
He told our correspondent that the African Democratic Party in a door-to-door ‘evangelism’ distributed between N1,000 and N2,000 last night while the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress gave out their cash this morning.
Likewise, the ADP, the PDP and the APC have been giving out money to voters in Asunmo ward, Unit 1, Talafia area, Ede.
He said,
“As a party agent, I have over N100,000 with me and I will give it out to those that vote for the APC.”
