‘The young and the restless’ actor, Jerry Doughlas, is dead

Soap opera actor, popular for his role in ‘The Young and the Restless,’ Jerry Douglas, has died.

According to his family, the 88-year-old died on Tuesday after a brief illness.

TMZ reports that JD, as he is fondly called, logged nearly 900 episodes on ‘Young & Restless’ dating back decades.

He was the third actor to play John Abbott, presiding over the Abbott Mansion and Jabot Cosmetics for 25 years until the fan-favorite character was killed in 2006.
