I started music after leaving prison – Burna Boy
Self-acclaimed African Giant, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, has revealed that he started his music career immediately after his release from prison.
Burna Boy made the revelation in a now-deleted Tweet on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday as he recounts his past life.
The Grammy Award winner in the Tweet said he came into the music industry after spending time at the HM Prison Chelmsford – a Category B men’s prison and Young Offenders Institution, located in Chelmsford, Essex, England. The prison is operated by Her Majesty’s Prison Service.
The ‘Last Last’ crooner in the tweet revealing that he had been to prison said he doesn’t care of he’s the biggest Nigerian artist, he’s just happy he can do what he loves and Take care of his people from it.
He also recounted how he risks his daily freedom just to make ends meet, adding that people should be happy for him in his life now.
The Love Damini crooner wrote, “Nigeria real doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the biggest Nigerian artist, I’m just happy I can do what I love and Take care of people from it. If you knew just Half the shit I used to do for money risking my freedom Daily you would be Way Happier for me.
“I came into the Music industry straight from CHELMSFORD HMP. I had No idea I would even live this long. So when people talk about me now it’s all just funny. Of course, I would perform with my injured Leg or even NO Legs or no arms.”
