Team trophies come before the individual ones, says Salah after winning Goal of the Month
Liverpool and Egypt attacker, Mohammed Salah, has revealed that he desires more team trophies over individual ones after winning the Goal of the Month Award for January.
The former Roma star scored a sensational counter-attacking goal which started in their own box against West Ham United as Jurgen Klopp’s men defeated David Moyes’ side 3-1.
Reacting after winning his first Budweiser GOTM award, Salah said, “It was a team goal and it’s a great feeling to score goals like that.
“The most important thing is that we won the game. That’s what makes it so special.”

Speaking further, the former Chelsea man who became the first Liverpool player to win the award since Daniel Sturridge in August 2018 said he’s focused on more trophies to Anfield.
“I don’t go into the season saying, ‘OK, let’s be top scorer, I don’t care about the team,’ ” Salah says.
“I’m trying to win the Premier League, the Champions League. The team trophies come before the individual ones.”
Meanwhile, the Egyptian also scooped Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for January after appearing in all seven of the Reds’ fixtures to open 2021 and netted five goals.
