Student fractures legs after jumping from 4th floor to escape hostel fire in Abia
A student of Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba, Abia State, Chidubem Nwankwo, has fractured her legs after jumping from the 4th floor of her off-campus hostel, following a fire outbreak.
The fire was said to have started at about 6.00pm on December 16, 2017. In panic, Miss Nwankwo climbed the balusters in the balcony of her apartment and jumped down, as the fire was closing in on her.
A House of Representatives member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Ossy Prestige, has visited Miss Nwankwo at the hospital, promising to pay her medical bill. .
The medical director of the hospital Dr. Akunne-Wariso described Miss Nwankwo’s survival as divine, saying she was responding to treatment and recuperating faster than was thought
