FIFA Ranking: Nigeria rank 34th, 5th in World, Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have remained unmoved on 34th position in the latest FIFA world ranking.

Gernot Rohr’s men who maintained a perfect start to their Qatar 2022 qualifying campaign with two victories in two to stay top of Group C are fifth in Africa behind Senegal, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Nigeria stay 34th in the world ahead of Paraguay and South Korea who occupy 35th and 36th positions respectively.

According to FIFA’s official ranking updated on Thursday 16th September 2021, the Super Eagles have an average ranking of 39 with their higher ranking – 5 and 82 as their lowest ranking.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s women’s football national team, the Super Falcons rank 38th in the FIFA world ranking which was last updated in August.

According to FIFA, the Falcons are still number one in Africa ahead of Cameroon and South Africa who rank 52nd and 55th respectively in the world.

While Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire are 4th and 5th in Africa and 60th and 61st respectively in the world.
