South Korea elminate Flying Eagles from U20 World Cup
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have crashed out of the 2023 U20 World Cup on Sunday night after suffering a 1-0 defeat to South Korea.
Ladan Bosso’s side, who eliminated the host Nations in the Round of 16, failed to find the back of the net against the Koreans despite having much of the possession.
Both sides were inseparable after the regular 90 minutes until the defender Seok-Hyon Choi broke the deadlock five minutes into extra time.
The Nigerians came close towards the end of the extra time but failed to find an equaliser that would have taken the quarterfinal clash into penalties, dashing the hopes of Africa.
South Korea will face Italy in the semifinal after the Italians booked their ticker with a comfortable 3-1 win over Colombia
