English television personality and record executive, Simon Cowell, and his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, are finally engaged.
The couple who dated for nine years are set to tie the nuptial knot, a source confirmed after reports of Cowellโs proposal to Lauren made headlines in December 2021.
Daily Mail reports that the 62-year-old music mogul, popped the question to 44-year-old Lauren, on the couple’s Barbados getaway over the new year in front of their seven-year-old son, Eric and Lauren’s 16-year-old son, Adam.
A source told the Sun that, โSimon and Lauren are ridiculously, nauseatingly in love โ incredibly, lockdown brought them closer than ever.
โLauren was absolutely stunned and never in a million years expected Simon to pop the question. She burst into tears โ happy tears โ and obviously said โyesโ straight away.
โIt was important to Simon that the kids were there too, as he adores them both and the family theyโve become.

Cowell and 44-year-old Lauren welcomed their son in early 2014.
Lauren was previously married to Andrew Silverman from 2003 to 2013, while Americaโs Got Talent judge was previously engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy from 2010 to 2011.
