Service Chiefs: Soldiers celebrate resignation of Buratai, others [Video]
A video surfacing on the internet has shown some Nigerian soldiers reportedly celebrating the resignation of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai, alongside other service chiefs.
WuzupNigeria reported that the former CoAS was replaced on Tuesday after the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) announced his successor as Major-General I. Attahiru.
While a large number of Nigerians see Buratai’s replacement as a welcomed development. many at the same time called on the president as well as the International Criminal Court(ICC) to probe him as Nigeria’s insecure has reached an alarming peak.
The jubilation of soldiers over his replacement will not come as a surprise to many Nigerians who have for long clamoured for his sack due to incompetence in the fight against corruption, terrorism as well as kidnapping which is becoming a norm in a country regarded as one of the giants of Africa.

Reacting to the viral video, former presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore expressed shock and wondered what the atmosphere would be like when Buhari is no longer president.
“See soldiers rejoicing over the removal of Tukur Buratai as the Chief of Army Staff of @HQNigerianArmy
imagine what’s #Nigerians will do when his incompetent boss @MBuhari is also retired permanently from #Nigeria’s political space. imagine it!” he tweeted.
