Segalink lambastes Ambode for not addressing extra-judicial killings in Lagos
Popular rights activist, Segun Awosanya aka Segalink, has called out Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode over his silence on the recurring extra-judicial killings of Lagosians by police officers.
In less than a month, no fewer than three youths have been killed by police in the state, and Governor Ambode has been silent. He has neither condemned the act nor taken any visible action to assure citizens he is concerned about the recurring killings.
Segalink who became prominent with the #EndSARS campaign described Ambode’s silence as “irresponsible”.
He took to Twitter on Tuesday to lambaste the Governor and wrote:
“I don’t even know Lagos State still has a Governor until I saw this at the IGP’s Address.
“The irresponsibility is so loud. Citizens in your state are being decimated by your own police and you said nothing? If there be any shame in him he should have sent a representative. #Shame”
