Seat fillers: the dream job that pays people N5,000, free food for attending events and clapping
The hustle, they say on the streets, is real and a Nigerian lady could not believe her ears when she heard of a job that pays you just to sit and clap.
The wage? A minimum of N5,000 – may be higher depending on the duration of the event – and free chow, sorry, food.
The lady, who described herself as an Amala connoisseur and Content creator on Twitter, shared details of the hustle on her handle, @precious_chee. She wrote,
So I just heard it’s not every audience you see at certain events that are real, my neighbor just told me she was called for a job to come sit and clap for the speaker or laugh when necessary for 5000 Naira ??
And most times it’s just for 30min -2hrs max then you cashout your 5k??
Okay she said the price varies depending on the number of hours spent and you still get access to free food and drinks ??
….Lmao be like this is my dream job…
Now as absurd as it sounds, commenters on her timeline say ‘seat fillers’ are nothing new.
Happens all the time. Seat-fillers exist https://t.co/Rg5nTWhcWH
