Read what ex-President Jonathan tweeted about visit of PDP senators
Less than 24 hours after pictures emerged online showing some PDP senators paying a courtesy visit to former president Goodluck Jonathan, the former president has spoken about the surprise visit.
It was reported earlier that Senators like Ben Murray-Bruce, Stella Oduah, Sam Egwu, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Gershom Bassey and Fatima were among those that visited Jonathan on Wednesday.
Former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan was also on hand to receive the senators.
Moments ago, Mr Jonathan went on his Twitter handle to confirm the visit as he thanked the Senators.
He urged the lawmakers to continue to give Nigeria their all.
Below is the tweet:
I thank the distinguished senators who paid me a visit earlier today and urge them to continue giving #Nigeria their all
— Goodluck E. Jonathan (@GEJonathan) July 21, 2016
Jonathan has largely stayed out of active politics since he lost the 2015 presidential elections to President Buhari.
He recently debunked certain media reports suggesting that he would re-contest for president in 2019.
