Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth, discharged from hospital

The husband of Queen Elizabeth and Britain’s Prince Philip, who had been in the hospital since on Friday has finally been discharged and is set to celebrate Christmas with the Queen of England and  the Royal family.

The 98-year-old Philip, whose official title is the Duke of Edinburgh, was expected to join other members of the royal family for the Christmas celebrations on Dec. 25.

On Friday, Buckingham Palace officer said, Philip had been taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure for treatment for a pre-existing condition.

Philip walked out of the King Edward VII Hospital and shook hands with a nurse before getting in the front of the passenger seat of a Range Rover car.

He was expected to join other senior members of the royal family, who are gathering at the Sandringham estate in eastern England.

Prince Charles said on Monday that his father was “all right”, raising expectations that he would be discharged from hospital in time for Christmas.
