Pregnant 15-year-old girl married off to man, 66, in Anambra
Less than a week after the family of a 16-year-old girl married her off to a 56-year-old man in Ozubulu in Anambra State, details have emerged of a similar incident in Nnewi area of the state.
Reports claimed one Ebube, 15, was forced to marry a 66 years old man after she got pregnant at age 14.
It’s not, however, clear if the unidentified man impregnated her.
Human Rights activist, Prince Gwamnishu Emefiele Harrison, who shared details of the child marriage incident on his Facebook timeline, said the man previously had two wives who left him.
According to Harrison, Ebube who left school when she was in JSS III has expressed a willingness to leave the marriage.
Harrison wrote,
