Plateau police arrest two alleged car thieves, retrieve stolen vehicle
The Plateau State Police Command has successfully apprehended two suspected car snatchers in the state, leading to the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
According to the spokesperson for the command, Mr. Alfred Alabo, the arrest was made in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau. He stated, “With the Anti Car-Theft Strategy adopted by our Commissioner, Mr Steve Yabanet, the command recently recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two suspects.”
The stolen vehicle, identified as a Ford Explorer with registration number SHD 452 JT and chassis number 1FM5K8D81EGB13576, was reportedly taken from Aja, Lagos State.
The arrested suspects are named as Godiya Amos, aged 33, and Polycarp Abu, aged 38. Alabo confirmed that they would face charges in court after the completion of the investigation. He assured that the vehicle is currently under the custody of the police and will be returned to the Lagos State command once the investigation is concluded.
The Commissioner of Police warned criminal elements in Plateau to cease their illegal activities. He emphasized that the command is committed to pursuing and bringing perpetrators of crime to justice, stating, “The command would come after them.”
