Kaduna police arrests ten kidnappers, recover arms
The Kaduna State Police Command has reported the successful arrest of 10 individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities between September and October 3, 2023.
This announcement was made by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, during a press conference held in Kaduna.
During the operation, the police operatives managed to seize three AK47 rifles, three fabricated 10-round revolvers, 448 rounds of 7.62 X 39mm live ammunition, another cache containing 15 rounds of 7.62 X 39mm live ammunition, and a vehicle with registration number Ebonyi HKW 578 AA.
ASP Mansir Hassan highlighted the commitment of the police force to combat robbery, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
He stressed the importance of collaboration between the police and the public in ensuring community security, emphasizing that securing the community is a shared responsibility.
The police spokesperson acknowledged the security challenges faced by the state, including banditry, kidnapping, robbery, and conflicts between farmers and herders.
However, he mentioned the concerted efforts made by the police to address these issues, resulting in a relatively peaceful environment for law-abiding citizens in the state.
The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will face charges in court upon the completion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Garba, commended the officers and men of the Command for their dedication and gallantry in carrying out their duties.
He also warned criminals to stay away from the state, reaffirming the commitment of the police to safeguarding lives and property.
