Nigerian skit maker and content creator Peller has alleged that some of the dollar cash sprayed on him during his recent wedding turned out to be fake.
Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, made the claim in a video while discussing money he received at the ceremony, explaining that while some of the Nigerian currency handed to him was genuine, he was disappointed to discover that certain dollar notes were counterfeit.
“I went to the bank, and the Nigerian money was genuine. I saw that a lot of people gave me Nigerian currency. Yes, they gave me Nigerian currency, and that is good. I know the people who gave me genuine money; if I see them, I will recognise them,” Peller said.
“When they came, I saw them. They gave me fake money. I got home, I was feeling like a millionaire and used the money to make a video. ‘Hello, hello,’ and then I realised it was fake. I can’t talk.”
The content creator said he was able to recognise some of the people who gave him genuine Nigerian currency but claimed that other money he received was fake. He also said he discovered the alleged fake notes after returning home and using the money while making a video.
The alleged incident occurred at his traditional wedding which took place on August 1, 2026, in Lagos . The ceremony attracted several notable personalities from Nigeria’s entertainment and social media circles, including singer Zinoleesky, actress Iyabo Ojo, Cubana Chief Priest, and media personality Daddy Freeze .
Peller further explained that he had refrained from discussing the dollar issue since he went to change currency, suggesting that he did not want to continue talking about it.
The content creator ended his remarks by questioning the practice of spraying money at events, asking: “Is it by force to spray money?”
He did not identify the individuals he alleged gave him the fake currency in the remarks.
Peller and his wife Jarvis, whose real name is Elizabeth Amadou, held their traditional wedding on August 1 in Lagos after completing a civil wedding on July 29 . The couple has announced that their white wedding will take place on August 8, 2026, with attendance limited to between 80 and 100 guests .
