Former Beşiktaş J.K. midfielder, Sinan Engin, has raised concerns that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen could turn into a major challenge for Galatasaray S.K. in the upcoming season, despite his decisive impact in their recent title success.

Osimhen played a starring role on Saturday as Galatasaray sealed a historic fourth consecutive Süper Lig championship.

The Nigerian striker delivered a second-half brace to inspire a 4-2 comeback victory over Antalyaspor at Rams Park, further underlining his importance to the team’s success.

Throughout the campaign, the 27-year-old forward has repeatedly delivered in crucial moments. With 22 goals and eight assists across 33 appearances, his contributions have been central to Galatasaray’s title charge, with many observers suggesting the club’s triumph may not have been possible without him.

However, Engin believes the coming season could present a different challenge for both the player and the club. According to him, opposition teams in the Turkish Süper Lig will likely adjust their tactics to limit Osimhen’s influence on matches.

“Next season, Osimhen will be the biggest problem for the Galatasaray management,” Engin said.

“Osimhen won’t be able to play this comfortably next season. Opponents won’t leave him that much space.”

Meanwhile, uncertainty still surrounds Osimhen’s future in Turkey. The striker has reportedly attracted interest from several European heavyweights, including FC Barcelona, Arsenal F.C., Real Madrid CF, and FC Bayern Munich. Although he has previously expressed commitment to Galatasaray, a significant offer could still alter his plans this summer.

If he remains in Istanbul, Osimhen is expected to continue posing a constant threat to defenders. His physical strength, relentless movement, and attacking efficiency make him one of the most difficult forwards to contain when fully fit, ensuring he remains a key figure in any competition he plays in.
